Community-based management strategies for biocultural diversity conservation

Making the link between land use change and community conservation

The video presents the partial results of the technical mapping of satellite imagery from several, non-consecutive years, as well as the participatory mapping of land use and land cover changes and its relationship with economic, social and cultural factors.  It also presents community conservation initiatives from two COMBIOSERVE project study sites, namely: Pilón Lajas (Bolivia), Southern Bahia (Brazil), Calakmul (Mexico). The video thus also features certain conservation initiatives that have contributed to reducing pressure on ecosystems and biodiversity.
